Call for Chapters: Nyayshatram Edited Book on Criminal Justice System



ABOUT NYAYSHASTRAM

Nyayshastram is a student-run organization under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ratan K Singh, Senior Advocate Delhi High Court & Arbitrator, along with the aid and advice from eminent Lawyers and Academicians across the nation. The initiative is aimed to foster legal research, writing, and presentation by providing a platform to encourage e-learning through various competitions and events conducted utilizing the virtual platforms.


ABOUT THE JUSTICE FOR RIGHTS FOUNDATION

Justice For Rights Foundation is a youth-driven N.G.O. (NonGovernmental Organization), comprising of professionals (Advocates, C.S, C.A’s, Engineers, Doctors, Educationists, Social Workers) as well as grass root workers. They are working for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces & Paramilitary Forces (disabled and martyrs), their families, rehabilitation of rape victims, providing education to children who are somehow devoid of it, and for the upliftment of the transgender community.


ABOUT THE BOOK

This Call for Chapters is for contributions in an edited book on the theme: “Criminal Justice System in India.” A compilation of selected chapters shall be published as a book bearing ISBN identity. The primary objective of criminal law is to protect society against criminals. For this purpose, the law holds out threats of punishments to prospective lawbreakers as well as attempts to make the actual offenders suffer through the implementation of the prescribed punishments for their crimes. The dynamic environment around us has witnessed a drastic change in the forms of crimes and the ways of dealing with them. Submissions involving a critical appraisal of the changes witnessed in this area of law shall be given preference along with policy recommendations.


EDITOR IN CHIEF

Dr. Avinash Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Law at Christ (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR and has been teaching law and mentoring students for the last 8 years. He is JRF qualified and clears the exam of NET eight times. He has completed his Graduation in Economics and LL.B. from the University of Delhi. He has done his LL.M. from Indian Law Institute. Recently he has completed another Master's in Political Science. He has completed a PG Diploma in Constitutional Law from Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies, New Delhi. He has done his Ph.D. on the topic “Rights and Obligations of Parties Involved in Surrogacy: A need for specific legislation in India”. His articles have been published in more than 15 leading Indian and foreign law journals and books.

WHO CAN SUBMIT?

Interested Professors, Researchers, Practitioners, Students are invited to submit Book Chapters. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind peer review basis.


GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

  1. Abstract (Minimum 300 Words) Along with 5 Minimum Keywords, with final paper should be sent.

  2. The title of the paper should be followed by Name, Designation, Name of the Organization/University/Institution, and Email address. It is mandatory to mention an Email address, as all future correspondence will be through it.

  3. Name and details of Co-author, if any. There can be ONLY two authors to a submission.

  4. Chapter: The chapter should be in Times New Roman 12 point font and double spaced. The main title should be in full capitals, bold, and centered with a 12 point font. Sub-titles should be in sentence case, bold, and 12 point font. Author’s names should be in small capitals and centered 12 point font Footnotes should be in Times New Roman 12 point font.

  5. Citation Format: Please use footnotes as opposed to endnotes. Footnotes should conform to SILC (Standard Indian Legal Citation).

  6. Submission of the Abstract: A covering letter with the name(s) of the author(s) and address, designation, institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript and contact information (email, phone, etc.) is compulsory to submit. All submissions must contain an abstract of not more than 300 words with 5 Minimum Keywords.

  7. Originality of Manuscripts: All the contributions should be the original work of the contributors and should not have been submitted for consideration in any other Publication. Any plagiarized work will be out-rightly rejected; Plagiarism more than 20% will strictly be rejected.

  8. Copyright: The contributions presented to and accepted for publication and the copyrights therein shall be the Intellectual Property of Nyayshastram.

  9. The title of the Chapter should be followed by Name, Designation, Name of the Organization/University/Institution and Email address. It is mandatory to mention Email address, as all future correspondence will be through it.

  10. The paper should be typed in MS WORD format.

  11. The paper must be in a single-column layout with margins justified on both sides.

  12. The length of the paper should not be below 3,000 words (including footnotes) and Should not Exceed more than 6,000 (Including Footnotes).

  13. All contributions must be submitted to submission.nyayshastram@gmail.com and carbon copied to nyayshastram@gmail.com .

  14. Non-conformity with any of the guidelines as mentioned above shall lead to an outright rejection of the manuscript.

  15. All submissions including the abstract must be sent on or before the 5th of July, 2021.


PROCESSING FEE

A nominal fee amounting to Rs 500/- shall be charged that is payable only by the contributors whose submissions have been accepted. This fee is in no way reflective of a publication charge. The fee shall go to the team of editors engaged in this process.
